VACATION POST II: More photos from the Smoky Mountains National Park
While hiking the trail to Laurel Falls, I was able to capture photos of mountain laurel and flame azalea – both of which grow wild throughout the park.
And then while hiking one of the many trails located throughout Cades Cove, we actually walked right up on a deer resting in the underbrush, seemingly bedded down for his afternoon nap. He didn’t seem to mind at all that we were there; he never seemed startled by our presence; he merely looked at us and then looked away.
He was so close and so calm … that I was tempted to try petting him.
